I grew up in Detroit, a major urban area where I always felt that there was something wrong with the way we lived. If someone offered you an investment with a guaranteed 10-fold payoff, would you invest? That’s sort of the deal that is being proposed by Governor Brewer’s Task Force on Sustainable State Parks Funding. The task force released its report Oct. 30, and one of the primary recommendations is creating a Sustainable State Parks Fund, which would be financed by an optional $14 to $15 annual contribution that would be collected from owners of noncommercial vehicles as part of the registration process.
